Content volume is easy to count. Commercial contribution is harder because the action may happen later, in another system or after several visits.
Name the decision the content supports
Some pages create first discovery. Others answer an objection, support comparison or help an existing opportunity. The measurement should reflect the page role.
Define the target action
A form submission is not always the useful action. It may be a suitable demo, a booked consultation, a product sale or an account that reaches a later stage.
Protect source data
Campaign parameters, landing page, first source and recent source should be stored consistently where the sales system can retain them. Document what happens when the user returns later.
Group content into useful sets
Review by topic, funnel role, market or content type. A single article can be noisy. A planned group often shows a clearer pattern of visibility and assisted behaviour.
Agree the review window
Some content can be judged quickly. Competitive or low volume topics need more time. Set the expected learning period before deciding that a page has succeeded or failed.
A good measurement plan does not make attribution perfect. It makes the missing evidence visible and keeps the team from using publication count as the main result.
